Tremendous student employment opportunities abound here in the Silicon Valley, the high-tech capital of the world. Many of our students are able to secure well-paying jobs in a variety of different fields, all within walking distance or a short drive from our centrally-located campus. For students planning to work off-campus while enrolled at Golden State, it would be helpful for you to do a couple things before arriving in Santa Clara. These will give you an advantage in securing a good job that will work with your college schedule:

1. Establish a work history. Employers are sometimes wary to hire someone without any job experience.

2. Prepare a resume that can be e-mailed or faxed to prospective employers. Many times, you can begin your job search before you even arrive on campus by sending your resume ahead of you.
