The 1st Annual GSBC Men’s Campout was a great success! On Thursday afternoon, our college men loaded the busses and headed out for the campground, nestled in the redwood trees outside Felton, CA. Over the next day and a half we enjoyed various activities, including football, softball, and swimming along with plenty of delicious food, great singing, and fiery preaching.

Our graduates, Brother Alex Munoz (2002) and Brother Matt Williams (2003), both preached for us as well as our Chancellor, Dr. Trieber. Brother Munoz is the youth pastor at Riverview Baptist Church in Pasco, Washington, and Brother Williams is the youth pastor and music director at Shasta Baptist Church in Redding, CA. The preaching was powerful and many great decisions were made. The invitation in the Friday evening service went well over an hour.

While the men were camping out, our college ladies were enjoying some special activities as well. The most notable being a shopping excursion to Union Square in San Francisco. Click here to see a few pictures from these exciting activities.

America needs help. Sometimes it seems like our situation is hopeless. Sometimes it seems that there is nothing that we can do. However, our biggest problems are not the social and political ills that plague us on every side. Our biggest problems are much more personal than we would like to admit. On September 11th, I spoke to our college students on the subject, What Can You Do for America? You may follow the highlighted link to hear the message. I hope these simple thoughts will be a blessing to you.

This week we are hosting our 24th Annual Pastors’ & Workers’ Conference at North Valley Baptist Church. We had a wonderful day yesterday with Dr. David Gibbs preaching in the morning service and Pastor Tim Ruhl in the evening. After the service, the college faculty and staff had the privilege to host many of our delegates who arrived early for the conference and we had a great time of fellowship.
