I am so excited about the beginning of the fall semester! It is always such a blessing to see all of the returning students again and to meet the new students that the Lord has sent our way. I have never gotten accustomed to the great privilege that we have to work with young people who have given their lives to God. We are praying that the Lord would give safety to those who are travelling this way and wisdom to our faculty and staff as we begin this new school year.

On Friday, August 14, my mother went to be with the Lord. Of course, the last few days have been difficult for our family, and especially for my dad. However, these experiences have brought us closer together as a family and have made Heaven so much sweeter to all of us. We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of sympathy and prayers, and we deeply appreciate the kindness that has been shown to us. We are amazed at the far-reaching influence of a lady who was the perfect example of a meek and quiet spirit.

I have so many fond memories of my mother and I owe her so much for all that she has invested in my life. I am keenly aware that I am responsible for everything that she instilled in me, and I am more determined than ever to live in such a way that will make her efforts worthwhile.
